Have you ever wanted to do crafts, but had no time to go to the store to get a project or couldn’t find a very good one? Well, look around your home. There are many wonderful and exciting projects lying around your house, waiting to be assembled? Where are these projects? Everywhere! Virtually any junk can become a work of art. Although you can virtually think of anything, let’s explore some of the possibilities.
Have you ever had a hard time thinking of a Halloween costume for your child? Well, have you ever thought of using a cardboard box? They aren’t just for storing junk, but they can be an adorable costume for your child.
•Computer: Color or paint the box gray, and have your child’s head come out of the monitor.
•Robot: Color the box gray. After that, draw your nuts and bolts, buttons, and gadgets.
•Legos: Color the cardboard box whatever color you want, and use cottage cheese containers to make it look like a Lego, and color those also.
•Refrigerator: Color the box white or black, and add a little handle.
•Box of cereal: Choose your favorite cereal, and color your child’s costume, until they look like a box of cereal.
These are just a few ideas, but you can think of your own crazy costumes.
There are many free projects that can be printed online. There are also many things you can make and print on your computer.
•You can find many pictures and activity books that you can print and color. You can get pictures of animals, trains, cartoon characters, cars, nature scenes, and all sorts of things. You can even create your own pictures and fill them in. The possibilities are endless. You can print a picture of your family and color it. Then you can frame it, and keep it forever.
•You can print masks for Halloween, paste a colored picture on cardboard and cut out the eyes and tie it with some string. You can make a bug mask, an animal mask, a Gene Simmons mask, or make it a mask of a family member, and they can dress up as that family member for Halloween.
•You can print bookmarks, and you can color them. You can keep the bookmarks, or give them as presents to family and friends.
•You can make cards for any occasion. Any grandparent would love to have a birthday card colored by their beloved grandkids. You can save lots of money making and coloring your own cards, as opposed to going to the store and buying them. Also, you can print decorations, and color them for any holiday. Color turkeys, pilgrims and cornucopias for Thanksgiving and santas, snowflakes, and Christmas trees for Christmas. Maybe you could draw some cupid’s and heart’s for Valentine ‘s Day. These are only a few suggestions. But, you will save money on decorations, and find that making your own decorations is much better than only buying them at the store. You will have a blast, and spend lots of quality family time, while adding valuable decorations to your house.
Do you have any boring, plain T-shirts, shoes, and other items? Why not add a little color to them using fabric markers. You make all sorts of fun and fantastic designs on your clothing. You can make designs of favorite sports teams, like football or basketball. You can make designs of their favorite musical artist. Or, you can just be downright silly and draw anything from cookies to beaches. Your kids will be the only ones at school with their one of a kind T-shirt.
So whether you’re looking for a quick easy project, or a long rewarding one, look around your house first. There are many projects just waiting to be made. The possibilities are endless; your imagination is the only limit.
