Tie dye projects are a fantastic and exciting and fun way to spend time for people of any age, from little kids to teenagers to adults. Tie dye projects aren’t just for hippies or for people stuck in the 60s, but instead are cool and exciting even now. You can use tie dye in order to design your own shirts, your own socks, your sheets, your curtains, your pillow cases, your bags, or anything else that you want to design and make your very own!

•Make sure when you are doing your tie dye projects that you only use items that are at least 75% cotton, so that the dye will really soak into the fabric and you’ll get great and bright and tie dye designs that you and your kids will really love.

•While tie dye projects are easy to do and fun to do for anybody, tie dye isn’t just all about fun. It’s important that you practice safety steps and cautions while you are doing your tie dye projects, whether you are doing them yourself as an adult or if you are doing them with your kids. The chemicals in the dyes that you use to create your tie dye projects can be incredibly harmful if they are gotten on skin or if they are breathed in by you or your children.

•You and anybody else who is around you when you are working with your tie dye projects or is helping you with your tie dye projects should always use rubber gloves or plastic gloves when you are working with any dyes, from when you first start mixing them until you are done with your tie dye project.

•You should also always wear a dust mask when you are doing tie dye projects. Anybody who is helping you or is around you when you are doing your tie dye projects should also wear a dust mask so that no dangerous chemicals are breathed in during the dye mixing, dye creating, and also dyeing your different project items.


•If you are really into doing lots of tie dye projects, then you might want to consider investing in a more sophisticated deluxe rubber respirator that will be more comfortable for you to wear than a dust mask, and you will also be able to use it over and over and over again on all of your different tie dye projects.

•You will want to consider investing in a hand cleanser that is specially formulated for removing dye from your skin. Reduran hand cleaner is especially good at removing dyes from your hands, and it’s a good idea to keep it close by for any craft projects that you are doing.

•Safety glasses are an important safety tool because you need to keep your eyes protected and safe from the harmful chemicals that are in the dyes that are in tie dyes that will be used for tie dye projects.

•Use plastic drop cloths in order to protect your furniture and your home from the dyes that you will be using; these dyes are incredibly difficult—as in, impossible—to get out of anything that the dye get onto.

•Finally, you will want to use aprons in order to protect your clothing and your skin. You can use disposable plastic aprons, which are cheap and inexpensive. Also, you can use cloth aprons which are made for either children or adults. Everybody should be wearing an apron to protect their skin and their clothing.
