Decoupage Sneakers
Pre teens will especially love this "cool" craft. If you use the right decoupage solution they will stay looking good for months and months.
You will need:
- Canvas Sneakers
- Tissue Paper
- Outdoor Mod Podge
- Pony Beads
- Foam Brush
Instructions for the project: Begin by choosing the colors of tissue paper you want to use. Tear off the straight edges and then tear the paper into irregular 1" pieces. Beginning at the toe along the sole of the shoe, brush on the decoupage solution. Lay tissue pieces onto the shoe selecting pieces that fit along the curve of the sole. You can overlap edges to create interesting color combinations. Brush on a top coat of outdoor decoupage solution. Be sure that the child covers the sneakers completely. Let dry thoroughly. Keep in mind that multiple coats will give you better protection. For a finishing touch you can string beads on the laces to decorate.
Photo Collage Tissue Box
You can make an under the weather the friend or family member feel better in no time with this clever craft. Allow about 2 to 3 hours to completely finish.
What you will need:
- Scissors or 2-inch circle craft punch, available at craft stores
- Photographs or digital images
- Colored paper
- Mod Podge sealer, (matte or gloss)
- Paintbrush
- Plain plastic tissue box cover
- Photographs
Instructions for the project: Start by using the craft punch or scissors and cut several dozen circles from selected images and colored paper. The next step is to paint some sealer on an area of the tissue box, top it with a circle, and then coat the circle with more sealer. Repeat this process with each circle until the box is decorated to your liking. Be sure to let the sealer dry overnight.
