Fabric Bookmark

This project offers Mom a stylish way to mark her place in her favorite book.

Materials needed:

2x9-inch piece lightweight cardboard
5x10-inch piece fabric
Crafts glue
Tassle
Self-laminating sheet (available at office supply stores)
Scissors

Instructions for the project: Fold the fabric in half lengthwise. Glue the fabric to the cardboard. Cover both sides of cardboard with fabric using glue. Trim the fabric to closely fit the cardboard. Cut one end of the bookmark to form a 1-inch V. Add on the tassle. Pull back the fabric on one side at top of V and glue in the tassle. Glue the fabric back down at tip covering the tassle string. Cut two laminating sheets a little wider than the bookmark. Laminate by placing the bookmark between the two laminating sheets, making sure the tassle is not inside laminating sheets. If bubbles do appear, use your hands to carefully smooth bubbles out. Trim the laminating sheets to size of bookmark
