Muffin Cup Flowers
Muffin cup flowers are a great springtime craft decoration to hang on the wall or door to add some light to your springtime decorations. You will need a few simple materials:
•Glue
•Scissors
•Construction paper
•Two muffin cups
•Paint
•Crayons
•Markers
Then you will color the two muffin cups, they will be the flower head so feel free to pick any color you want. Cut some brown construction paper to be the stem of the flower. Then you will cut some green construction paper to be the leaves and glue them to the stem. Once you have glued the stem and leaves; you will glue the muffin cup to the top of the stem. Flatten out the bottom cup a little bit so you are able to see the leaves on the stem. You can glue the flower to a blank sheet of paper and decorate the paper by adding grass, sky and clouds. Using cotton balls is a great way to make the picture come to life.
Tissue Paper Flowers
Another springtime décor craft is to make tissue paper flowers. They are easy to make and can range from simple to “almost real” with your desire. You will need:
•White or Assorted Colored Tissue Papers
•Green Chenille Stems (pipe cleaners)
•Green Construction or Crepe Paper
•2 Round Jar or Plastic Lids (one smaller than the other)
•White or Clear Craft Glue
•Scissors
•Pencil
•Big Sewing Needle or Sharp Poking Tool
Then follow the simple steps for assembling your tissue paper flower. First, make the flower petals by tracing the circle lids onto tissue paper. You will need to make 8 total circle layers for your flower: 4 big circles and 4 smaller circles. After you have cut out all the circles, place the smaller circles on top of the larger ones. Second step is to pierce a hole through the middle of the circles and then push the pipe cleaner through the holes and twist the two ends of the pipe cleaner together. Third, you will arrange the flower. Crunch each piece of the circular paper and make it look like a carnation flower. Last step will be to draw flower leaves and attach them to the stem, making your papers flower look real. This is a great way to add a little color to any room in the house and make your house look ready for springtime.
Springtime décor crafts are often focused on bringing in colors that are pastel or lighter to show a fresh start to the year. Make your holiday festive by making cookies and candies that are pastel and help to celebrate the springtime. Having a good imagination is the best place to start. Many springtime décor crafts can be made with a few simple objects in your home.
