Variations on the Bull's Eye Tie Dye Project
Here are some variations that you can do on the bull’s eye tie dye project. Try out each of these projects and experiment. Remember—no tie dye project will ever turn out exactly the same! They will always, always be different.
1. Use either one or two colors for your project. Add rubber bands to any area of the fabric based on whatever you want to do.
2. Mix the dye in individual buckets, instead of adding it to squirt bottles or squeeze bottles.
3. Dip your fabric into one color of dye. You can dip either all of the fabric or just parts of the item of clothing.
4. Dip the rest of the piece of clothing into another bucket of dye color. Remember that if the dyes mix the colors will end up changing. But this won’t be all that bad—it depends on what type of project you want to end up with!
5. When you’re done, put your clothing into the plastic bag. Then when it is set, remove the rubber bands and let the piece of clothing dry flat.
Make sure that you use cotton fabric. Polyester fabric will not accept the dye. Cotton fabric will let the dye seep into the fabric. Also make sure that you pre-wash the fabric to remove any finish that the manufacturer has applied to the fabric.
